Eclipses are potent moments in time as they reflect an opportunity for inner alignment, between the mind(moon), soul(sun) and the earth(body/self). It is our unfulfilled desires which bring us to this life, and much of our life’s events hinge upon what this axis represents in our charts.
This coming eclipse cycle for Sept-Oct 2024 may reflect some kind of completion on some level for you; either a relationship, job, living arrangement, mindset, lifestyle patterns, or state of being. Something has clearly ended, but maybe the transition is not yet complete. The steps forward may feel shrouded in fog; yet something’s gotta give.
The key word for eclipse season is Confusion
Eclipses are omens, signifying waves of change, neither good nor bad; they represent turning points in our lives, particularly when our personal planets and points are touched. Eclipses are by their very nature, unpredictable.
The changes can be large or small, they can be highly dramatic, or barely noticeable. For some, it is just a gradual dawning of a new awareness of exactly what you need to do, for others it can signify the ending of certain trajectory and the start of something new.
Events which occur during these times can feel fated, destined in some way; changes take time to unfold, the cycles last for up to 6 months.
Once in 18 Year Cycle
Virgo & Pisces Sun(born 16 Sept – 16 Oct, 16 March – 16 April), or having your Moon or Ascendant in these signs, you are experiencing a once in 18 year cycle, as the lunar nodes take 18 years to revolve through the 12 zodiac signs. This is a highly potent time for you.
Cancer & Leo moon and ascendant are also impacted by these eclipses due the their connection to the Sun and Moon
On a mundane level, eclipses trigger earthquakes, strong weather patterns, eruptions and other ‘shocking’ terrestrial events. You will see that people become more sensitive, there is discord, unrest, frustration, tension, anxiety, breakdowns, there is greater confusion and more misunderstandings. Weird things happen, freak accidents, sudden windfalls, breakthroughs and revelations.
There can be virus outbreaks, attacks, fraudulent activity exposed, leaders fall from grace, clashes with bosses and superiors, earthquakes, floods etc.
What are the Nodes?
The lunar nodes lie at the exact degrees where the moon aligns with the sun and earth causing temporary darkness. Rahu and Ketu are psychological grahas, they impact the subtle, astral bodies. Rahu is the head of the celestial serpent, Ketu, the tail.
Rahu is like a false sun, he is full of hot air, but often lacks substance unless supported by other strong planets -(think Donald Trump/House of Cards)
Ketu is like a wandering sadhu in the desert, he represents spiritual reality, black holes, and sudden, often traumatic endings and separations – the purpose of which cuts our illusions and attachments keeping us bound to Samsara
When Rahu and Ketu touch your personal planets, either natally or by transit, you are either completing a karmic cycle, beginning a new one, or being pulled further along your destiny according to your desires and karmic backlog.
The level of awareness you have over yourself, your desires and compulsions determines how smoothly these experiences can take place.
It is of no surprise that the lunar nodes, particularly Rahu, feature prominently in the charts of politicians such as Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, within the royal family, Elon Musk, and other individuals with huge drive, desire and ambition, and ability to impact the world in a large way.
Rahu has an intelligent & innovative, out of the box way of thinking, yet manipulative and deceptive quality to it, which can give rewards and success in a big way, but can also take it away, thus those under the strong influence of the nodes often experience sharp rises and falls throughout their lives.

Snakes symbolise the eclipses, as Rahu and Ketu represent the Kundalini rising, the transformation of desire and the evolution of your consciousness.
This is the movement of the unconscious, animal aspect of our nature, to the divine nature of consciousness. Yogic sciences have paved a way for the human being to begin to evolve beyond the purely physical dimensions of existence.
Remember though, that the more you are aligned with the supreme reality, with dharma, with nature, with the natural rhythms of life and your own soul trajectory, the less fettered by the external storms.

18 September : Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse – Pisces/Purva Bhadra Pada
This will be an emotionally heightened day, you may feel very energetic, and motivated, or very tired, overwhelmed. There is too much disturbance on the astral levels. On the subtle realms, things are not as they seem. If your natal moon or ascendant is in Pisces then you will be feeling this more intensely. A time to come home to yourself.
In general, material affairs are shrouded in some confusion, decision making can be complicated, overall if you can take the day off and keep things simple, your nervous system will thank you for it. Its not a day to over plan and fill your schedule.
Clean the house, journal, read uplifting and expansive books/content (eg – autobiography of a yogi) meditate, do some somatic bodywork, keep things simple.
The Full moon falls in the star Purvabhadrapada which is symbol of a man with two faces, or two opposing views … Purva Bhadra is ruled by Eja Ekapada – a one footed goat, Ekapada is connected to Shiva, the transformative aspect of life symbolizing the need for sacrifice and surrender.
