This month brings many changes, as multiple planets shift signs, reflecting subtle shifts in our daily lives and in our emotions, environment, and mindset.
Sun and Mercury transits to Libra indicate a time of seeking harmony and rebalancing in relationships, embracing creativity, co-operation and community which can bring a welcome relief from the critical nature of Virgo, however sun and mars will be debilitated which means major struggles with the fire element – people will act cowardly, and from a disempowered state.
Jupiter is now retrograde which also indicates a time when dharma, righteousness and truth gets ignored, or dismissed. People are not following wisdom. Overall we need to proceed very carefully as the next few months of astrology weather reveals specific weaknesses which need to be nurtured with care, diplomacy, tact and compassion.
The current water related crisis we are seeing in the world is related specifically to:
- Rahu in Pisces/Uttarabhadrapada, (deity is Ahir Budhyana – Serpent of the deep sea),
- Saturn in Aquarius/ Shatabhishsk (deity is Varuna, lord of the Oceans)
- Mars in Ardra (Gemini) – deity is Rudra, lord of storms
See the water motif? Its not just a metaphor, the planets, signs and stars reflect to us the unique quality of time and the flow of the universal elements. This is some of the ways astrologers can predict the timing of troubling affairs. Eclipses, particularly Rahu in water signs means the eclipses are triggering transformation and change specifically connected to the element of the sign they are in.
Next year, from May, it will be air, aviation and tech issues, calamities, breakthroughs and changes, once the nodes shift into Aquarius/Leo, respectively and Jupiter moves into sidereal Gemini

The Full moon this month in ARIES is on the 17th of October, same day the Sun moves to its weakest place. Sun having just changed signs will have NO power – this is a super ‘low energy day’ – don’t expect too much or yourselves of others as its a super full moon, plus a gandanta transit (the karmic knot), which brings all manner of unstable and tricky and out of control situations. Sun and Moon are our primary lights and when weak we see people losing their minds, their sanity and stability.
If you can, take the day off and chill. Keep it simple.
Today is a breakthrough, a turning point.
10/10 – Mercury moves to Libra bringing a fresh perspective for relationships. Hopefully diplomatic communications can occur, and reducing some of the global intensity in the middle east. Thinking can be more harmonious, creative and aimed at finding co-operative solutions. Mental ruts can clear now as well.
13/10 – Venus moves to Scorpio – This transit brings intensity, transformation and passion into relationships, Scorpio being the natural 8th house of the zodiac promotes research, psychotherapy, healing and financial gain. Venus crosses the turbulent gandanta region on the 7th of November which brings storms and strong weather patterns; Venus is a water planet
17/10 – Sun moves to Libra – This transit indicates instability in global power and authority, weakened immunity, confidence and courage as the sun is at its least favorite sign, following the transit in Virgo where it was with Ketu who was stripping the Sun of its glory. Libra is a sign of fairness, democracy and equality, but the lack of will be evident with this transit.
On one hand, Sun in Libra it is good for finding the middle path, to seek co-operation and unity, yet there will be troubles with leaders, government office, power struggles, ego drama and those in leadership roles.
20/10 – Mars moves to Cancer – Mars is the planet of War – This is a dangerous time for the world, with major planetary players – USA, Israel, Iran and Lebanon being directly impacted by the current major transits, and all having significant placements in sidereal Cancer sign. Fire planet in water sign also indicates more flooding and water issues, as mentioned earlier, due to Rahu in Pisces
Mars is considered a defeated warrior in Cancer sign, and is slowing down to move retrograde. on the 7th of December. Retrogression of a malefic planet increases its negative propensities.
December is a critical month for the middle east and a major attack is highly likely particularly around the station dates 5-9 December and 22-26 Feb.
The next article I will discuss the impact of Mars Retrograde/Cancer sign …

Jupiter connects us to the element of space, or akash, inviting us to explore beyond the boundaries of our current belief system. During this period, your faith and belief systems may face challenges. There will be setbacks and delays or even cancellations in project completion. However, it offers a chance to revisit and complete projects that were previously abandoned. Remember, every setback carries the seed of opportunity! Issues that have been stagnant since May – July may finally begin to heal and resolve.
Past relationships—whether an old lover or a fleeting romance—may resurface, prompting a review and readdressing of unresolved issues, especially when Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio from 26 Nov – 16 Dec
External situations slow down, energies become more inward, past situations emerge to rectify, readdress and review. Retrograde planets indicate negative personality traits brought over from previous lifetimes. They represent the challenges but also opportunities for transmutation. It is more of an introspective time.
Jupiter is linked to the vishuddhi (throat) chakra, sacred speech, the element of space and the sense of hearing. This is a time to reflect deeply, seeking wisdom beyond mere emotions or logic. Is there a conversation needed to occur? Do you need to speak your truth? Are you ignoring your inner wisdom?

On a practical level, expect delays and obstacles in the areas Jupiter influences in your chart. It’s a moment to reassess your beliefs and attitudes about specific matters in your life.
Jupiter’s transit in Taurus is strong , however it is not an easy place for jupiter to be in as Venus and Jupiter share an inimical relationship. This is a materialistic position for the Guru, prompting a reevaluation of your values around resources, finances, luxuries, and pleasures.
You might feel more stubborn or resistant to change, especially in light of financial pressures that reveal the true worth of people, places, and investments. Jupiter encompasses themes of dharma, wealth, faith, spirituality, and guidance from mentors.
Jupiter is Guru – Guru means ‘ Remover of darkness’ – A true teacher is the one who helps to remove the veils of ignorance and expand our perspectives. This is why Jupiter is said to be exalted in Cancer, the sign of the moon, which is our mind.
Jupiter retrograde may hinder your ability to accept good advice, leading to potential difficulties in relationships with male partners and issues of trust and faith in various aspects of life. This is a time to lean toward your inner knowing and listen to the Guru within.
Globally, we’re witnessing growing divisions regarding beliefs of right and wrong, ethical and moral standards. This is a time for introspection—consider your beliefs, the advice you heed or ignore, and your connection to your inner guru. Reflect on how you can overcome ignorance (avidya) through wisdom and faith.
As Mars moves into Cancer, preparing to retrograde in December, intensifying energies may emerge, highlighting humanity’s struggle for balance amidst conflicting ideologies. We risk becoming trapped in cycles of illusion and separation.
